Mathieu van der Poel has kept his word: when he is back in the country, he would visit the hairdresser. The world champion has already been spotted during training with a fresh cut, without neck tape.
Mathieu van der Poel had appeared in the field last winter with a neck carpet. Last Saturday he raced with it in Milan-San Remo.
Now that he is back in the country, Van der Poel has had the scissors put in. Matje was spotted without a mat on a cobblestone slope.
He was also photographed without a spoiler in a Ghent coffee bar.

On Saturday in Milan-San Remo, locks were still flying from under Van der Poel’s helmet.
Tomorrow Van der Poel starts his Flemish spring with the E3 Saxo Classic, where Wout van Aert will also start. The world champion will race in Ghent-Wevelgem on Sunday, without Van Aert. They will meet again in the Ronde and Roubaix.
