Queen Máxima always prepares herself well when she visits. This was no different during her three-day trip to Colombia. For the occasion, the queen even carried two bags from the country of destination as an ode to the country where she had been invited.
Máxima visited Colombia to draw attention to the importance of financial inclusion. She arrived more or less undercover on the first day in a simple black pantsuit with high-water trousers and her hair simply in a ponytail. The reception was sober because she even had to make her entrance via the normal airplane bridge and skipped the well-known descent of the airplane stairs.

The only eye-catcher in her outfit was the Wayuu bag (made by people from this Wayuu tribe in the desert) by Colombian designer Silvia Tcherassi, which she still had in her closet and had probably received as a gift during a previous visit to the country. And that’s nice: wearing an accessory souvenir is a tribute to your host. Under the motto: whoever keeps what always has something, this bag was packed for the trip at the right time. It will not surprise anyone if one of the princesses borrows this bag soon, because as we know, Máxima’s wardrobe and accessories closet is very popular with her daughters. On the second day she again wore a bag with a nod to her Colombian origins, a slightly more spacious model made of woven material.

Her slingback flats that she wore upon arrival seemed at first glance to be from Chanel, but they are from the extremely popular Spanish shoe brand Toral. It could be that she had just bought these comfortable ‘flats’ a few days earlier when she went on a shopping tour in Madrid with Alexia. The next day’s printed, long and airy Natan skirt was an old acquaintance she had worn before. Plus a cream top and an airy cream cardigan tied over it in case it gets a little colder. Because the weather apparently permitted, Máxima wore slippers from the French fashion house Hermès in black. Unfortunately a size too small. Could she possibly have borrowed it from one of the daughters and packed it last minute?

In itself a great outfit for this occasion, but apparently there was little time to iron or steam it because the whole thing looked quite wrinkled. The skirt also seemed to be a little longer than before, perhaps the hem was explained a little? In any case, it is certain that Máxima has gradually returned to her summer wardrobe now that she has been in a warmer country for a while. And that bodes well for the coming weeks, when we will probably see even more light, colorful outfits and hopefully slippers in her own size.
