The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute has issued a first level warning for some districts.
On the night from Friday to Saturday, ground frosts should be expected, especially in the north and east of Slovakia. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) has issued a first level warning for the Žilina and Prešovský regions, as well as for some districts of the Košice, Trenčianske and Banskobystrické regions.
Meteorologists warn that at a height of five centimeters above the surface, temperatures in these locations can drop to zero to minus two degrees Celsius. According to SHMÚ, ground frost represents a threat to lower vegetation.
