The Mexican Red Cross received a donation from Pfizer laboratories, through Direct Relief, 12 thousand vaccines against Covid-19, which will be applied free of charge in 40 vulnerable communities in the Mexican municipalities of Lerma and Huixquilucan.
The State Delegate of the Mexican Red Cross in the State of Mexico, Jorge Alberto Forastieri Muñoz, thanked the donation, which “reflects his desire to help those most in need and contribute to building a fairer world for all.”
He explained that the 12 thousand vaccines against Covid-19 will be applied in communities that have characteristics such as population over 65 years of age, degree of marginalization, health needs, to mention a few.

Luis Mendoza, director of Direct Relief, stated that Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine is an achievement for humanity, because it helped get out of social confinement, “within confinement we learned that the great challenges can only be solved if we work as a team and thinking about the common good,” he said.

Luis de la Paz, Director of Public Affairs at Pfizer, expressed that this company permanently works on the science of changing lives,” and recognized health professionals, who have been the first front in the battle against the virus.
“Your work has been extremely valuable and, without a doubt, without you it would have been impossible to reach this moment,” he said.
