Microsoft’s Surface Pro tablets, and especially Surface Laptops, have looked the same for so long that even jokes about their unchanged appearance have become outdated.
Therefore, without further ado, we welcome their new generation. The main innovation is the transition to the current generation of Intel processors, which, due to their NPU coprocessor for the acceleration of AI tasks, give manufacturers the chance to label new laptops as machines for the AI era. These are mainly H-category processors, i.e. with higher processor and graphics performance. They can now be equipped with up to 64 GB of RAM.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 10 also adds an NFC reader for corporate contactless cards, while the larger 15-inch Surface Laptop 6 then adds an optional slot for inserting chip Smart cards. The webcams are also better, the tablet gets a wider 114° field of view and a 1440p camera that can then automatically zoom to the face, the notebook gets a FullHD camera.

But a significant change is the new targeting of the product. Although Microsoft previously offered two branches of products, for end consumers and for businesses, the new generation is now exclusively aimed at business customers. Therefore, only the Go variants of tablets and notebooks will probably remain in regular end sales.
Targeting businesses here also means support for the cloud version of Windows 365, to which you can easily switch from regular Windows or even boot the entire computer straight into the cloud version of Windows. Serviceability is also improved, it is easier for repairmen to get inside and find the described screws and QR codes leading to instructional videos.
Microsoft traditionally launches new computers closer to the fall, so launching in the spring is somewhat unusual, but all the more it shows that Microsoft simply cannot afford to sell computers with older processors anymore. He used to get away with it, but he simply has to offer new so-called AI processors, even though the importance of NPU coprocessors in computers is not yet significant.
Since it is mainly news for businesses with an emphasis on integrating Copilot into company processes, the main market will be the USA. The weaker support for Czech in AI and in our country the gradual integration of Copilot’s capabilities into Windows does not yet make the new Microsoft computers such a necessary device.
So it is good to know that the new generation Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 exist, but if their arrival in the Czech Republic is slightly delayed, nothing major will happen.
