Microsoft Teams to Enhance Message Forwarding with Direct Links to original Content
For months, Teams users have requested a crucial improvement to message forwarding.Currently, forwarding a message shares its content but lacks a direct connection back to the original conversation.this can be frustrating when context or the full thread is needed. Fortunately, Microsoft is addressing this issue, bringing Teams closer in functionality to platforms like slack.

Previously, receiving a forwarded message in Teams meant viewing the content in isolation. You couldn’t easily trace it back to its origin without specifically requesting a link. This made understanding the complete conversation history and surrounding context challenging. Now, microsoft is implementing a solution to streamline this process.
Introducing Forwarded Message Links
Microsoft is rolling out a feature that will embed a link within forwarded messages.This link will direct you to the original chat or channel where the message originated. Importantly, access to the original conversation is required to utilize this feature.
This enhancement is a direct response to feedback submitted through the Microsoft feedback portal, where users have consistently advocated for this functionality. The addition demonstrates microsofts commitment to user-driven development and improving the Teams experience.
Release Timeline and What Else is Coming
According to the official Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the “Forwarded Message Links” feature (Feature ID: 503099) is slated for release in October. This update will initially be available for both PC and Mac users.
But that’s not all. Microsoft has several other enhancements planned for Teams in the coming months:
* Enhanced iPad Multitasking (November): You’ll soon be able to separate a popout window for meetings on your iPad, improving multitasking capabilities (Feature ID: 503109).
* Multi-Camera View Switching (November): Teams Rooms on Windows will gain the ability to switch between diffrent camera views during meetings (Feature ID: 503104).
It’s vital to note that these timelines are subject to change. Microsoft may adjust release dates based on development progress and testing.
