Ministry of Fisheries reacts to the union’s claim to strike –

The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources reacted this Friday, 26th, to the intention of the strike announced by workers in the sector, which, according to the union committee, is at stake in non-compliance with the demands of the demands list.

Speaking to the press, the Director of the Legal and Exchange Office of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Liliana SebastiĆ£o, says the allegations made by the union in their statements are not entirely true.

It should be noted that workers at the Ministry of Fisheries called the first phase of the strike for May 6th, in protest against the lack of response from the employer regarding the demands list.

The strike, which will take place in three phases, is based on the lack of daily food, lack of health and shopping cards, salary adjustments and updating of categories.

Regarding the intention of the strike, Liliana SebastiĆ£o said that so far, the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources has not received any formal notification of the strike declaration.

Employees denounce, on the other hand, what they consider to be irregularities in the hiring of potential nominees for management and leadership positions, as well as the marginalization of staff.

Liliana SebastiĆ£o also adds that the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources is engaged in improving the social conditions of workers, which is why the Director of the Legal and Exchange Office, as mentioned, appeals to workers in the sector to remain calm.
