Young Woman Launches Appeal for Funds Towards Life-saving Double Heart-Liver Transplant
A young woman from[Location-[Location-[Location-[Location-see note below]is appealing for financial assistance too undergo a double heart-liver transplant in 2026. Diagnosed at birth with a complex heart defect – a malformed tricuspid valve and a single ventricle – she has faced a lifetime of medical challenges.
Born a “blue baby” due to a lack of oxygen, she underwent her first open-heart surgery at age one. A second open-heart surgery at age four was intricate by a stroke, leaving her paralyzed on her right side and requiring her to relearn to use her left hand. She received a pacemaker in 2015, but her condition has steadily deteriorated.
In 2024, doctors informed her that her heart is failing. Her weakened valve is allowing deoxygenated blood to circulate, and her liver is also failing as a consequence of her heart condition.A double heart-liver transplant is now her only hope for survival.
“This is the last chance I have left, the doctors are placing all their hopes in two transplants so that I can finally have a life like everyone else,” she wrote on a fundraising page launched to help cover expenses.
The transplant is scheduled for March 24, 2026, and will require her to spend two to three years in mainland France, away from her family. Due to her limited disability pension, she will be unable to cover the costs of living during this period. Her mother will accompany her to provide support, as her medical history has left her with limited independence.
The fundraising campaign aims to help cover living expenses during her extended stay in mainland France while awaiting and recovering from the transplants.
Those wishing to contribute can find the fundraising page here.
