Missouri Quarterback Sam Horn suffers Season-Ending Leg Injury
Columbia, MO – September 11, 2025 – A significant blow has struck the Missouri Tigers football program. Quarterback Sam Horn will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after undergoing successful surgery to repair a fractured tibia in his right leg, sources confirmed to ESPN. the injury occurred on the vrey first play of the Tigers’ season opener against Central Arkansas on August 28th.
Horn, a fourth-year player from Lawrenceville, Georgia, is expected to make a full recovery. However, this setback undoubtedly alters the landscape of Missouri’s quarterback situation for the year.
A Promising Career Interrupted
Horn’s journey to becoming a key player for the Tigers hasn’t been without hurdles. He arrived at Missouri as a highly-touted recruit – the no. 6 pocket passer in the 2022 class. His athletic abilities extend beyond the football field; Horn was also a promising pitching prospect.
In fact, the Los Angeles Dodgers selected him in the 17th round of the 2025 MLB draft. He even signed a contract with the team in July, showcasing his diverse athletic talents.prior to this recent injury, Horn had appeared in five games for Missouri.
Adding another layer to his story, Horn previously missed the entire 2024 season following Tommy John surgery. He was working his way back to full health and competing for the starting role this fall.
Pribula Steps up: A New Leader Emerges
With Horn sidelined, all eyes turn to Penn state transfer Beau Pribula. The redshirt junior was already in a planned timeshare with Horn, but now assumes the full responsibility of leading the Tigers’ offense.

He completed 30 of 39 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns.Currently, he leads the SEC in completion percentage (79.1%), ranks second in passing yards (617), and third in passing scores (five).
