Two young men aged 28 and 33 were shot late Sunday evening in the Lachine district of Montreal.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was alerted around 11:20 p.m. for a man injured by a gun on 42nd Avenue, near Saint-Joseph Street.

Police officers dispatched to the scene located two men injured in the upper body by at least one firearm projectile, said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

The victims, one of whom was inside a vehicle and the other outside, were rushed to a hospital center in a conscious state.

Later after a return from the medical authorities, the SPVM confirmed that there was no danger to the lives of the two victims.

Several shell casings were found on the ground, while the suspects fled in a vehicle, Montreal police said.

Witnesses were met by the police who also planned to view surveillance cameras, but no suspect has been arrested for the moment.

A security perimeter was set up while waiting for investigators who were to travel to the scene to analyze the scene and try to establish the circumstances of this shooting.
