Rabat – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, met, Wednesday at the headquarters of the House in Rabat, with the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO), Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo, on a visit in Morocco until May 9.

The discussions focused on the reforms and major projects launched by the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in particular that of the social state considered as a pioneering experience at the regional and international levels, indicates a press release of the House of Representatives.

During these interviews, Mr. Talbi Alami reviewed the attributions of the House of Representatives relating mainly to legislation, the control of government action and the evaluation of public policies, highlighting the role of the House in support for the social state project.

For his part, the Director General of the ILO welcomed, according to the press release, the conclusions of his visit to Morocco, whose social reforms he welcomes, expressing his strong appreciation of the social strategy of the Kingdom, which aspires to guarantee the well-being of all.

Mr. Houngbo also highlighted Morocco’s commitment to respecting and promoting fundamental social rights and the effectiveness of social protection, emphasizing the important role of parliament and parliamentarians in the areas of legislation, control of government action and the evaluation of public policies of a social nature.
