TECH NEWS – MSI’s handheld PC is capable of significantly better performance thanks to the new system software and Intel’s new graphics driver, so it will slowly be able to keep up with other AMD-based platforms.

Compared to the Asus ROG Ally and Steam Deck OLED, the MSI Claw appeared expensive, which was not accompanied by good performance. Thus, the rivals presented a better value/price ratio, to which MSI responded by starting to release new system software updates, plus reducing the price of its device. Intel also helped, because with the help of the new drivers, the Core Ultra processors and the Arc integrated graphics chips are also capable of more than before.

The name of the new BIOS is “BIOS Ver. E1T41IMS.106” (see the second link below), which fixes several bugs and increases the performance of games. Now you don’t need a USB drive or dock for the update, the process of which has been significantly simplified by MSI. Download and open the BIOS file, choose the option to extract everything, choose Flashwin, it is better to click on the file with a long press, run it as an administrator, then choose the option “Yes” and wait for the system to reboot by itself, which completes the BIOS update.

During MSI’s testing, they experienced a significant performance increase with the new drivers. F1 23 with 43.5%, Hogwarts Legacy with 27.6%, Diablo IV with 22.6%, Forza Horizon 5 with 18.4%, Dead Space Remake with 21.9%- kal, and Helldivers 2 achieved 10.3% better performance with the new software package. The MSI Claw doesn’t have AMD’s Ryzen APU, so it was important for Intel to do everything for better performance, but since the Core Ultra chips are still quite new in the handheld market, it takes some time to fine-tune the performance .

The only question is how many Intel Core Ultra chips will be used in the segment later, because AMD’s market share can be called quite dominant.
