Mubi, the globally recognized curator and distributor of independent, international, and classic cinema, has announced the appointment of VJ Carbone as its new Senior Vice President of Theatrical Marketing. This strategic hire underscores Mubi’s commitment to expanding its presence in the North American market and championing distinctive cinematic voices.
The announcement comes on the heels of a remarkably triumphant year for the company, marked by critical acclaim and industry recognition for its diverse film slate.Recently, Lynne ramsay’s psychological thriller “Die My Love,” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, premiered to rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival and is now generating meaningful awards buzz.

Prior to Amazon MGM Studios, Carbone dedicated 14 years to Focus Features, contributing to the success of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. these include iconic titles such as “Brokeback Mountain,” “the Constant Gardener,” “Atonement,” “Somewhere,” “Moonrise Kingdom,” and “Downton Abbey.”
Beyond his commercial work,Carbone demonstrates a deep commitment to fostering cinematic culture. He is the co-founder of the Asbury Park Film Initiative, a non-profit institution dedicated to promoting culture, education, and diversity through film.
