Former National Guard sergeant Renzo Flores and Whilfer Pina, a member of the opposition organization “Reikalas R”, were arrested in the framework of this case.
They are accused of issuing threats to President N. Madura on their WhatsApp accounts. According to the publication, correspondence and plans to hire 50 soldiers and seize tanks for a coup were found on the phones of the detainees.
Last year, almost 40 people were arrested in Venezuela on suspicion of plotting an assassination attempt on the president.
