Nazem Kadri Celebrates a Milestone: 1,000 Games and a Legacy Forged in Fire
Nazem Kadri recently reached a remarkable achievement – playing in his 1,000th NHL game. “I don’t really have a switch where I can turn it on or off,” he explained. “Once you start keeping score it’s on for me. That’s always something that has driven me and helped through my career.”

Early in his NHL journey, reaching 1,000 games seemed a distant dream. yet, Kadri joins an exclusive club of just 407 NHL players to achieve this feat. Remarkably, he’s only the second Flame to score in his 1,000th game since martin gelinas accomplished the same in 2003.

The celebration surrounding his milestone game was a heartwarming display of camaraderie and recognition.Kadri initiated the festivities by gifting each teammate a customized scotty Cameron putter.
in return, his teammates presented him with incredibly thoughtful gifts: a diamond-encrusted necklace displaying “1,000” and a bracelet adorned with logos representing every team he’s played for. He also experienced a tradition he hadn’t encountered before.
“That came as a surprise to me,” Kadri said, referring to the modern “rookie treatment” warmup. “I hadn’t been on the ice alone like that in a long time - I think I missed my first three shots on net.”
Despite the initial shaky start, everything ultimately unfolded as planned. The emotional video tribute nearly brought him to tears.
“That video tribute almost made me cry, it was tough to kind of hold it together,” he confessed, proudly wearing his new necklace. “I tried to soak in every single minute… and it was incredible just to have my parents on the ice, my wife and daughter and people that have really supported me.”
He expressed deep gratitude to the Flames organization, the passionate fan base, and his teammates for making the day so special. “I can’t thank the Flames organization and the fan base and my teammates enough for such a special day.”
