Netanyahu closes Al Jazeera television in Israel –

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced that the government unanimously approved the closure of the Al Jazeera television newsroom in Israel.

The decision was announced on the X network, formerly known as Twitter, but details about when the measure would take effect or whether it would be permanent were not immediately advanced, according to the US news agency AP.

The vote comes in the context of the conflict between Israel and the canal, which worsened during the war with Hamas, and also comes at a time when Qatar is trying to help broker a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the war in Gaza.

Al Jazeera is one of the few international media outlets that remains in Gaza during the war, broadcasting bloody scenes of airstrikes and overcrowded hospitals, accusing Israel of committing massacres, while Israel accuses the television station of collaborating with Hamas.
