Streaming service Netflix has announced a price increase. In the service’s help center you can read that the price of a basic subscription will be increased by one euro to 8.99 per month. A standard subscription goes from 11.99 to 13.99, a premium subscription becomes three euros per month more expensive and then amounts to 18.99 per month.

Netflix says it is investing a lot in new content and productions and is now asking subscribers to contribute to this. Customers of the streaming service will soon be informed about the price increase. The last price increase dates from 2021.

Streaming service HBO has also announced a price increase. From June 11, everyone who currently has HBO will switch to HBO Max, which will also lead to a price increase of 2 euros for a standard subscription by August 13 at the latest, which will therefore cost 9.99 euros.

Disney+ has also risen considerably in price since its introduction in 2019. At the time, customers paid 7 euros per month, which has now become 11 euros. Amazon Prime increased the cost of a subscription from 2.99 to 4.99 per month in November last year. Apple TV+ prices have doubled since 2019. From 4.99 per month, the streaming service has become 9.99 per month via 6.99 in November last year.
