RIO DE JANEIRO – A disgusting case in one of the Brazilian banks has aroused the interest of the whole society. A certain Erika Nunesová (43) wanted to take advantage of her disabled uncle in order to take out a loan. Not only did her diabolical plan fail, but the police came out with a new statement after a few weeks.

On April 16, Erika de Souza Vieira Nunesová (43) entered a bank in Rio, Brazil. She was accompanied by her uncle Paul Robert Braga (†68), whom she pushed in front of her in a wheelchair. When it was the pair’s turn, Nunes applied for a loan of several thousand dollars. However, the laws in the country state that a third person must also be present in the bank for a higher amount. Here, Nunes wanted to use her incapacitated uncle to sign documents.

But Braga didn’t react, he didn’t even know how to keep his head straight. When Erika asked him to sign, he was unable to hold a pen in his hand. Workers then intervened and called the police. This entire incident is also recorded on a video that is circulating on social networks.
When the police arrived at the bank, they found Braga dead. An investigation revealed that he was no longer breathing. The autopsy report stated that if he had stopped breathing in the bank, which Erika Nunes herself referred to, blood clots should have started to form in his lower limbs. Since he didn’t have them there, he probably didn’t die in a sitting position. However, he came to the bank in a wheelchair.
She didn’t want a loan
Two weeks after the investigation was launched, Nunes could now face a manslaughter charge. She is currently being investigated for desecration of a corpse and attempted theft. However, new evidence indicates that she will also be investigated for murder.
“On April 16, 2024, it was evident that Paulo (Braga) was in a critical, life-threatening condition. This is evident from witness statements. His niece (Erika Nunes) went to the bank instead of returning to the hospital. This decision was a clear failure to provide assistance The accused will also be investigated for attempted murder.” said local police chief Fabio Luiz Souza. A few days before the event in the bank, she took a photo with her uncle on social networks.
In the new evidence, it is even stated that Nunesova did not go for a loan, but tried to open her own account, to which money from her uncle would go regularly. “There is no doubt that Erika knew about Paul’s death. She pretended her uncle was alive and even imitated giving him water,” added the police chief. After the investigation is over, the police will decide whether or not to charge Erika de Souza Vieira Nunes with a crime.
