– The armed forces are now assessing whether they have resources that can support air operations under the auspices of the Jordanian authorities.

This is what Development Minister Anne Beathe Tvinnereim (Sp) says to NRK.

To them, she says that it is not an optimal solution for getting emergency aid into Gaza and that it would be best if Israel opened the borders, so that emergency aid would come in continuously.

The Norwegian Defense Forces confirm to NRK that they have received a request to find out what they can assist with.

Many countries have begun airdrops of emergency aid in Gaza.

On Saturday last week, US military aircraft dropped a delivery of around 38,000 meals down to the Gaza Strip, where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are threatened by famine.

Jordan has also released emergency aid to Gaza by air.
