Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of Leonel Moreno, the Venezuelan migrant known on social networks as Leito Oficial.

The capture took place this March 29 in the city of Columbus, Ohio, by the ICE Fugitive Operations team.

Moreno had illegally crossed the border into the United States in April 2022 and had been released under Alternatives to Detention (ATD).

Despite having the obligation to appear before the authorities within 60 days, he never did so. He became known on the TikTok platform, where he incited other undocumented foreigners to occupy American homes and commit robberies in supermarkets.

Fox News journalist Bill Melugin said that an ICE source informed him that “illegal Venezuelan alien “TikTok influencer” Leonel Moreno was arrested by the ICE Fugitive Operations team in Columbus, Ohio.”

According to the same journalist, “he is now in federal custody.

After generating controversy on social networks, his account was suspended, but Moreno did not stop and opened a new account offering a reward of 15 thousand dollars to whoever could help him recover his original username.

ICE plans to issue an official statement regarding Moreno’s arrest in the coming hours, according to FoxNews correspondent Bill Melugin.

The arrest of Leito Oficial has generated great media attention and it is expected that more details will be clarified about his legal situation in the United States.
