The rest of the pensions will remain at the current value. Even if based on the recalculation he should get a lower pension, the pension law says that no pension will be reduced.

The Minister of Labor, Bucura Oprescu, said that the first notices with increased pensions will reach pensioners in May, at the end. Between June and August 31, all pensioners will receive notices with the pension they will receive on September 1.

The month of August is dedicated to the reprinting of pension coupons. The coupons will be colored and the pension calculation method, stability points obtained by pensioners, contribution points, etc. will be written on them.

There is a second recalculation

Very important! Overtime, night time, increments, premiums for pensioners who retired before 2001 will not be included in the pension calculation. Officials explained that the 3,000,000 pensioners will receive, on average, a 40% increase in their pension. The tax will be 10% of what exceeds 2,000 lei.

The most important criterion for granting a higher pension is the large number of years worked.

Calculation formula for pension recalculation:

Total Points X 81 lei (reference point value)

Total points = contribution points + stability points + assimilated period points.

Stability points:

– 0.50 points/year, for the years between 26 and 30 years in work,

0.75 points/year, for the years between 31 and 35,

1 point for each year worked over 35 years.
