In the talk show Op1, a chair at the talk show table is kept free for Geert Wilders. He would not like to come more often, Sven Kockelmann said in the talk show on Friday. It has therefore been decided to keep the chair available in the coming weeks until it arrives.
“We live in a constitutional state and it is quite common there that political parties that are represented in parliament, especially if you are the largest group there, also provide explanations in traditional media.”
The politician would also have been invited this week. “The answer is usually: no,” says the presenter. “Look, there’s an empty chair. We will leave that chair unoccupied until you come sometime.” They still have a few weeks to go, he continued. “You are very welcome to provide text and explanations for the choices you make in the House of Representatives.”
Wilders has said several times that he would prefer to abolish public broadcasting and regularly criticizes the media.
