These are two childhood friends who decided to launch their own watch brand. Our economic column leaves this Thursday to meet the company Myrah Watches founded by Jura residents Loïc Schindelholz and Marco Bulloni. They have imagined several models from A to Z with components that come entirely from the Jura Arc. The brand is only in its infancy, the two founders are still working separately. “We were immersed in the world of independence from a very young age. We told ourselves that we shouldn’t wait too long before getting started. Marco is a watchmaker and I am a business economist,” explains Loïc Schindelholz.

A long process

However, the two young entrepreneurs had to be patient. “It took us three years from the idea to the final product. Drawing the watch, making 3D plans, finding suppliers, negotiating with them and having the parts arrive little by little takes a lot of time,” emphasizes Loïc Schindelholz. So far, the duo has been able to sell around ten watches. He now intends to find investors to launch a second production and renovate his workshop. The two childhood friends also wish to develop collaborations with people from the region in the fields of oenology and gastronomy. Myrah Watches is currently in discussions to have a point of sale in the Caves du château in Delémont.

Myrah Watches recently organized a day to present its two collections to the public, the first quite basic includes a stainless steel case with single-color dials, the second is more high-end with semi-precious stone. Regarding leather straps, the young company had to give up sourcing from Switzerland for cost reasons, but it found a strap maker in Bucharest who “does everything by hand”. /alr
