Why did a sedan ram into electric cars? The driver admitted that she pressed the wrong pedal

The driver of the Lexus who rammed two electric cars was sober, healthy and fully mentally alert. This was confirmed by the police and emergency services who arrived at the scene. The user of the white sedan told the officers that when she was reaching for a parking ticket at the entrance to raise the barrier, her right foot slipped from the brake pedal and she accidentally pressed the gas pedal hard.

Parking damage in a shopping center can be estimated at over PLN 2 million

The effect can be seen in the photos. The losses will only be assessed by appraisers, so it is not known yet whether it can be considered a total loss. It is initially estimated that the total cost of repairing the damage to two luxury electric cars and one hybrid car and replacing the charging point may exceed PLN 2 million.

This approximate valuation seems absurdly high, but it may be close to the actual one. Especially the cost of repairing luxury electric cars can be extremely high. This is due to the high initial prices of such cars and the expensive body and paint repair procedures in the event of damage to the traction batteries. However, only appraisers will be able to assess reliably whether such damage can be said to occur in both electric cars.

In addition to the police, a fire brigade and a medical rescue team arrived at the Mokotów shopping center. Fortunately, the intervention of none of these services was needed. Neither the driver of the white Lexus ES nor anyone else required hospitalization. None of the electric cars needed to be put out. After removing the damaged cars and their remains from the road, traffic in the shopping center parking lot was restored.
