Patrick Lodiers quits the radio program De Nieuws BV after seven years. The departure is not a personal choice, Lodiers tells the ANP. “I am leaving the program with a heavy heart,” said the radio maker.
Lodiers started working on the program on NPO Radio 1 in the autumn of 2017. His last broadcast will be on Friday. His place will be taken over by Stephan Komduur, who is already a substitute for the program.
“Just like on television, radio programs are subject to change. This has been going on for a while,” says Lodiers. “It’s a shame, because my love for radio started here.” Yet the presenter can accept the situation. “The program has been presented by so many people, it is not actually from one person.”
A window
Lodiers doesn’t know yet what he will do next. “But where a door closes, a window probably opens. And these could be different windows in the media world, but perhaps also beyond.”
First the radio maker goes on holiday. “I think that’s a nice idea. That the red light goes out and that I then stay in a different frequency for a while.”
