Trooper Lucas amarose, 31, suffered more serious injuries and underwent several hours of surgery. He remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Commissioner Paris spoke directly with both troopers, reporting they were conscious and in good spirits despite their injuries. “I can’t say enough about how they performed during this incident,” Paris emphasized. “It’s with a great sense of pride – and thankfulness – that we are not here planning two line of duty funerals.”
Governor Josh Shapiro has publicly expressed his support and prayers for the injured troopers, sharing a message on social media alongside his wife.
