Jakarta – Persija Jakarta manager Ardhi Tjahjoko has addressed rumors regarding midfielder Ivar Jenner. While there was interest from Persija, the transfer proved arduous to finalize.
The speculation arose as Jenner’s contract with FC Utrecht nears its expiration, and he had indicated his intention to explore opportunities elsewhere. Persija Jakarta emerged as a potential destination for the young player. Though, Ardhi Tjahjoko confirmed that securing Jenner’s signature presented significant challenges.
“I don’t even know where the initial source of this issue came from,” Ardhi stated to reporters at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
“I did speak with Ivar Jenner, but we haven’t received a response from FC Utrecht yet.so, we are still waiting and it’s not yet certain,” he added.
Persija has already secured three new players during the mid-season transfer window of the 2025/26 Super League season: Fajar Fathurrahman, Alaeddine Ajaraie, and Paulo Ricardo. These additions are intended to bolster the team’s strength for the remainder of the competition.
The arrival of Alaeddine and Paulo necessitates the departure of a foreign player. Prior to their signings, Persija had 11 foreign players, consisting of 10 brazilian players and one from Japan.
“We have released Gustavo Franca on loan to Arema because he didn’t fit into the coach’s plans,” Ardhi explained.
“Currently,we have 12 players, but we will likely not register one of them. The specifics will be resolute by the coach,” he concluded.
