It may already be May, but we don’t seem to be completely freed from April’s whims yet. Today, sun and rain alternated and they also noticed this at the Hap festival in Schoten, which introduces extra measures to protect against rainy weather. “We are trying to provide more shelter, we have shelters but also some parasols,” the organization said.

This weekend, visitors can enjoy some music while tasting dishes from about 16 different food trucks. From fresh fish to empanadas or even sweets, there is something for everyone. But the food truck festival literally and figuratively fell through due to the persistent rain.

Even though the visitors did not let the weather stop them, the organizers had still taken a number of measures to keep the festival as dry as possible. “We are trying to provide more shelter, we have shelters but also some parasols,” says Yassine Hasson, manager of the Hap Food Festival. “We also try to provide ramps so that visitors do not have to constantly walk in the mud.”

“Despite the rain, our loyal visitors keep coming,” he remains positive.
