Pixar Reveals First Concept Art and Plot Details for Incredibles 3

Pixar’s famous superpowered family is officially returning to the big screen. The studio released the first look at “Incredibles 3” during the Disney Entertainment Showcase presentation at the D23 fan event, offering fans a glimpse into the next chapter for Bob and Helen Parr and their children.

Plot Details and the Return of the Parr Children

The third installment picks up in the aftermath of superheroes regaining legal status, a milestone that occurred at the end of the previous film. In the third Incredibles movie, Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack will move into the leading roles, sneaking out of the house at night to protect the city and hiding it from their parents.

Writer Brad Bird confirmed that there will not be a time jump in the third movie, keeping the Parr kids at their original ages. All three Incredibles films are written by Bird.

Cast and Creative Team Shifts Behind the Scenes

Several familiar voices are returning to reprise their superhero roles. Craig T. Nelson returns as Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible, alongside Holly Hunter as Helen Parr/Elastigirl. They are joined by Sarah Vowell as Violet, Samuel L. Jackson as Lucius Best/Frozone, and Huck Milner, who will reprise his role from “Incredibles 2” as Dash.

While Bird penned the script, a new creative voice is stepping into the director’s chair. Peter Sohn, known for his work on The Good Dinosaur and “Elemental,takes over as director ofIncredibles 3,” from Bird, who helmed the first two films.

Franchise Box Office History and the Road to 2028

The sequel, “Incredibles 2,” arrived in 2018 and held the distinction as Pixar’s highest-grossing film ever until 2024’s “Inside Out 2.”

Disney first announced the third installment at its D23 event in August 2024, with the release date confirmed in March 2026. “Incredibles 3” hits theaters June 16, 2028.
