Police and emergency services have alerted the Migration Agency in central Sundbyberg.

A “powder letter” was examined on site, which was later found to be harmless.

The harmless powder must have been flour, according to information to Aftonbladet.

Police and emergency services were called to an address in Sundbyberg northwest of Stockholm. The alarm came in at 15.37.

The police were initially tight-lipped about the whole thing.

– We are involved in investigating a consignment, says Daniel Wikdahl.

Ambulances should also be on the scene, but no injuries have occurred in connection with the incident, according to the police.

A special resource from MSB with expertise in handling dangerous substances has been called in, according to information given to Aftonbladet.

“Completely harmless”

At 4:40 p.m., the police were still on the scene without a forecast for when they can leave the scene. Parts of Sturegatan have been blocked off to investigate the object.

– We are working to check the object and the people who were near the object. We have to get the whole picture of how it got into the premises, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the police stated that the powder was harmless and was assessed as “completely harmless”. The operation could be ended without any suspicion of crime.
