According to a NSW Police statement, officers from the Oxley Police District were called to the Quia Road property at approximately 1:40 PM following reports of concern for a manS welfare.Upon arrival, officers spoke with the man outside the home. he then re-entered the residence and afterward emerged armed with a bow and arrow.
Police retreated to their vehicle for safety. A police firearm was discharged when the man aimed the bow and arrow at the officers. Paramedics from NSW Ambulance attended the scene and treated the man for a gunshot wound, but he died at the scene.
