Portuguese Police Seize Kalashnikov and Hashish in Lisbon Drug Raid

PSP Raids Smash Lisbon Narcotics Ring

Portuguese law enforcement authorities have dismantled a major drug-trafficking ring operating out of the greater Lisbon area, seizing thousands of doses of narcotics alongside high-powered military weaponry. According to reports from public broadcaster RTP, agents from the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) intercepted 74,000 doses of hashish during the coordinated sweep. The operation targeted an organized criminal cell that investigators believe was actively attempting to flood the capital with illicit substances.

As detailed by Público, the raids yielded multiple firearms, the most alarming of which was a functional Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Seizure of 37 Kilograms and Combat Hardware

Additional reporting from Jornal de Notícias confirmed that officers recovered 37 kilograms of hashish from suspects who were heavily armed at the time of the intervention. Investigators from Rádio Renascença noted that the neutralized cell served as a primary pipeline for introducing large quantities of contraband into local distribution networks.
