“Power must be handed over to civilians”, argues Carlos Rosado –

Economist and journalist Carlos Rosado said this Tuesday, 30th, in Luanda, that “power must be handed over to civilians”, understanding that the military has already done what it can.

The academic thanked the commitment of the military, especially the liberation movements such as the FNLA, MPLA and UNITA, and for achieving peace, however, he understands that “the military no longer represents the aspirations of Angolans”.

He gave an example of the bigger cake given to the Defense bodies than to Health and Education, at a time when “the aforementioned resources are not reflected in the military and police officers”:

“The country does not develop, but some, always the same, become bloated,” he said.

Carlos Rosado made these statements during the second Angola Peace and Development conference, under the auspices of the Development Guidance Platform Association (APOSES), in which he shared the stage with generals Clemente Conjuca, Eugénio Manuvakola and Higino Carneiro.
