With the MPG-321URX, MSI wants to offer a cheap alternative to the Asus PG32UCDM in the area of 32-inch OLED monitors – at least in the USA it is significantly cheaper.
One day after announcing the availability of the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM at a recommended retail price of $1,299, MSI is announcing a price war – but only in the USA. As the company confirmed to YouTube channel Monitors Unboxed, the MPG-321URX will be permanently sold overseas at a price of $949, making it significantly cheaper than the Asus screen without differing from it in any of its core specs.
Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM: 32 inch 4K OLED with 240 Hertz starts
Specifically, the MSI MPG-321URX has a diagonal of 32 inches with 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 240 Hertz. The manufacturer states a value of 0.03 milliseconds as the GtG response time on the product website; the typical brightness is given as 250 cd/m². The HDR peak brightness is said to be 1,000 cd/m², while the contrast ratio is 1,500,000:1 – all values can also be found in the Asus monitor mentioned.
However, support for Dolby Vision is not shown, but the QD-OLED monitor does have a KVM switch on board. The other connections are 1x Displayport 1.4a and two HDMI 2.1 ports, and USB-C with 90 watt power delivery is also included. Both manufacturers have also announced that they will extend the manufacturer’s warranty on potential OLED burn-in to three years. The overall package would be worthwhile, at least compared to the Asus monitor – if it weren’t for the regional restrictions. In this country, MSI lists the MPG-321URX on the official website for 1,399 euros, while the Asus PG32UCDM is at least not exorbitantly more expensive at 1,499 euros at the first retailers like Alternate.
