Before we continue, let’s first refresh our memory about the Belgian princess. 55-year-old Delphine is the illegitimate daughter of King Albert. Only in January 2020 did Albert officially recognize her as his daughter, but it had been known since 1997 that the Belgian king had a daughter from another relationship. Six months after the recognition, a reconciliation took place between Albert, Princess Delphine and Queen Paola. Since then, Delphine has been regularly in the media.

Exhibition in Luxembourg

Princess Delphine is an artist and as mentioned, she is currently exhibiting in Luxembourg. Her exhibition ‘European Love’ features a collection of striking paintings, full of bright colors and repetitions of the word ‘love’. Love literally and figuratively radiates from these works of art.

Delphine earns her own money

Even though Delphine has been able to call herself a Belgian princess for several years, she continues to work for her own money. She has been doing that since she was young. Delphine tells us that she worked in restaurants and shops as a child. “I always liked being independent,” she continues her story. Delphine further emphasizes that as a princess she is not looking for a financial contribution: “I don’t work for the government. I don’t get money like my brothers and sister.” Delphine also does not want taxpayers to have to pay even more money. She earns her money from her career as an artist. “That’s what I do, and I always have!” this is how Delphine concludes her story.

“Treat me equally!”

As mentioned, it took a while before Delphine was recognized by her father. Blue Blood asked the princess about this situation, and she wanted to tell something about it. She believes it is extremely important that children are treated equally. “You can change partners as much as you want, that’s your problem, but at least treat the children the same. To be able to sit at the table, you know, together!” It does not come out of the blue that Delphine finds this form of equality so important: “It has to do with… I am who I am, my father is who he is. I have the same father as my brothers and sister. Treat please agree with me!”
