PROFESSIONAL GROUP – Time to take stock for the Madagascar Industries Union

Charge. The Madagascar Industries Union (SIM) will hold a general meeting today at Carlton Anosy. This will be the first annual meeting of this kind chaired by Tiana Rasamimanana, president of this association of industrialists after his election in March 2023, succeeding Hassim Amiraly. A busy schedule awaits the SIM as several points will be raised during this annual meeting. This branch of the private sector and its divisions will draw up the outlook for this year. The meeting will be an opportunity to look back at past achievements to take stock of the actions carried out last year.

Among the achievements of last year was the establishment of the Management Center approved by the Industrial Union. A structure intended to optimize opportunities for small and medium-sized industries and businesses which still support a large part of the local economic fabric. Small and medium-sized industries therefore play a driving role in industrial development. An evaluation of internal developments and collaboration with partners in the private and public sectors is also on the program. Approximately sixteen SIM member establishments will participate in today’s meeting with associates from all sides.

The Industrial Union which is also one of the important signatories of the Industrialization pact. Thus playing its role as interlocutor, with large private sector entities such as the Groupement des Entreprises de Madagascar or the Fivondronan’ny mpandraharaha Malagasy (FIVMPAMA). The Industrial Union, created in 1958, is an association whose mission is “to improve the professionalism of industrial entrepreneurial activity in Madagascar”. Its responsibilities are diverse, in particular that of being a “credible and essential interlocutor among partners in the industrial sector, the business community and other technical partners”, indicates this association.
