King Charles is back performing his public duties after a period of convalescence due to his cancer diagnosis. And there has been no mistaking that the king is in a really good mood. At the premiere, at University College Hospital in London, he smiled widely as he spoke candidly to staff and patients alike.

On Wednesday, Queen Camilla hosted 300 guests at Buckingham Palace for an event to support people who have been victims of sexual abuse.

To one of the guests, Teresa Tideman, she told about her husband’s feelings about finally being able to be out and participate in public again.

– He was really overjoyed to be able to go out, said the queen and revealed how the last few months have been.

– I tried to hold him back.

A comment that caused a joking response:

– Good luck with that.

Visited a cancer clinic

The king is still undergoing treatment for cancer, but has been given the go-ahead by doctors to resume his public duties. On Tuesday, he visited a cancer clinic supported by the charity Macmillan Cancer Support, of which King Charles has been a patron for over 20 years. The king’s hope is that the visit will increase awareness of the importance of getting an early cancer diagnosis. He also wants to draw attention to the cancer research that is carried out in the department.
