REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHERAN — Israel has reportedly responded to Iran’s attack. Three sources confirmed the attack.

According to Tehran state media, Iranian forces shot it down drone-drone fired by Israel. Iran’s Fars news agency reported three explosions were heard at a military base near the city of Isfahan.

The drone attack was reported to have occurred in the early hours of Friday (19/4/2024). Iranian state television reported three drone visible in the sky above Isafah. The air defense system was active and destroyed the drones in the sky.”

Television stations later said the situation in Isfahan was normal and there had been no ground explosion. The Israeli military has not responded to requests for comment on the reports.

Israel said it would retaliate against an Iranian attack involving hundreds of drones and missiles in response to an Israeli air attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria. Some of Iran’s drone and missile attacks were shot down before landing in Israeli territory.

A source said the United States (US) was not involved but received notification from Israel.

Meanwhile observers and analysts worry about the risk of Israel’s war in Gaza spreading throughout the region. Before the attack drone Israel, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi warned that Tehran would ‘respond harshly’ to any attack on its territory.

At the UN Security Council on Thursday (18/4/2024) Iran said Israel ‘must be forced to stop all forms of military adventurism against our interests’. Meanwhile the UN Secretary General warned the Middle East was at its “most dangerous moment.
