President Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, aggressively warned that Russia now has the upper hand. He said Russia it now fires 10 times as many artillery shells as its country can, and 30 times as many planes.

“You have to be stronger than your enemy. Currently, the ratio of our artillery shells is 1-10. Can we survive? No. With these statistics, they will push us back every day,” Zelenskyy was quoted as saying detikINET from Insider.

Zelenskyy said that Russian planes outnumbered Ukrainians by 30:1. “How can you fight against Russia like this?” he said.

According to him, unless aid from the United States arrives again, Ukraine will have no chance of winning. The US is Ukraine’s biggest donor, but billions of dollars in further aid to Ukraine has stalled in Congress. Republicans still refuse to provide more funding.

Zelenskyy explained that they needed the ammunition that his country needed most. “We are not asking for missiles of 2,000 or 3,000 kilometers, nothing like that. And no one is asking for 500 or 300 aircraft, like Russia,” he said.

Ukraine is suffering from ammunition and weapons shortages that the army and experts say have a major impact on the battlefield. Even though many European countries have increased aid to Ukraine and their total aid is higher than the US, it is still not enough to cover America’s stalled aid deficit.

Many European countries have also warned they do not have enough supplies in their arsenals to give Ukraine. An American veteran, now a sniper in Ukraine, urges more US support.

“Ukraine overcame the odds and exceeded expectations in the first few months of the invasion. They demonstrated their capabilities with limited resources. How much more do they need to prove? Support Ukraine, help us win this war,” said Jonathan Poquette.

Ukraine is producing more ammunition and weapons on its own to reduce dependence on allies. The problem is, Russia is doing the same thing, and has a much larger population and more resources available.

Zelenskyy warned in March that Ukraine would have to start pulling back if no new aid came from Congress. “We’re trying to find a way not to go backwards,” he said at the time.
