BANSKÁ BYSTRICA – The city of Banská Bystrica published a sad news. At the age of 80, a renowned canine rescuer who dedicated her life to training rescue dogs and helping others left us forever.

Mrs. Alena Murgašová was a big figure in the world of cynology. She herself came up with the idea to start training dogs to save life and it happened founder of the canine brigade in Banská Bystrica. Over time, cynological clubs in Banská Bystrica and the surrounding area merged into an association Dog Rescue Slovakiawhere Mrs. Alenka herself worked first the chairman.

He has completed many rescue operations here and around the world, including searching for people in Turkey after the earthquake in 1999. “Together with other dog handlers from Slovakia, she joined other foreign teams that helped search for people buried in the rubble of buildings. Among her strengths was always the willingness and desire to help others,” mentions the city. Mrs. Alenka also had her own kennel Almur Royal.

Alena Murgašová died on Friday, March 1 at the age of almost 81. The last farewell will be on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Banská Bystrica Crematorium.
