San Diego Comic-Con Bans AI-Generated Art
San Diego Comic-Con, the world’s largest comic book convention, has reversed its previous stance and will no longer permit the display of art generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in its art show. This decision comes after notable backlash regarding the initial allowance of AI-created artwork.
According to a recent update to the Comic-Con art show website, works created wholly or in part by AI models are now prohibited. Previously, the convention permitted AI-generated submissions, but required them to be clearly labeled as non-sale items.
This move positions San diego Comic-Con as a major event taking a firm stand against the inclusion of AI-generated content, reflecting a growing preference among many for human-created art. As AI technology continues to advance, expect further debate and clearer boundaries regarding its role in creative fields.
