ANAHEIM, California — Kyle Schwarber had a two-run single in the second inning, Alec Bohm extended his hitting streak to 15 games and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Los Angeles Angels 2-1 on Wednesday.

Philadelphia won despite striking out 18, the 11th time the team has recorded at least that many in a game since 1906.

Nick Castellanos struck out four times for the fifth time in his career.

Venezuelan Ehire Adrianza hit his first home run in three years with the Angels, who finished their series at home 3-6. They have not won any of their five home series this season.

Los Angeles went 0-for-10 with a runner in scoring position. They had runners on first and third with one out in the ninth, but Gregory Soto struck out Jo Adell, and Taylor Ward hit a long fly toward the safety strip in left field. Schwarber caught the ball for the final out, which secured Soto’s second save.

For the Phillies, Panamanian Edmundo Sosa 0-4. Dominican Cristian Pache 2-0.

For the Angels, Venezuelans Luis Rengifo 3-2, Adrianza 4-1 with one run scored and one RBI.
