At 11:22 p.m., the emergency services, paramedics and police were called to Södra station in Örebro, where several pedestrians had been hit by a train.
– Three people are very seriously injured and we are searching the entire area to make sure there are no more, says Lars Hedelin, press spokesperson at the police in the Bergslagen region.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently unclear, but an investigation has begun and an extensive area is cordoned off. The train part has been formally seized by the police.
– It is not a passenger train, adds Hedelin.
Train traffic in Örebro is suspended, writes the Swedish Transport Administration.
