The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai and Emirates Airlines have concluded a strategic partnership agreement, with the aim of developing joint initiatives that will intensify efforts to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global center for trade, investment and business.

Based on the long partnership between the two parties and their success in the field of tourism promotion, this agreement embodies their commitment to achieving the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, and enhancing the city’s position as a leading destination for business and entertainment.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market Exhibition, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Supreme Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and the Group, and the Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, Helal Saeed Al Marri, while the agreement was signed by the Executive Director of the Foundation. Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Issam Kazim, and Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Operations at Emirates Airlines, Adnan Kazim.

Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Issam Kazim, said: “In embodiment of the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, the Department of Tourism and Economy in Dubai is committed to developing partnerships that contribute to achieving the goals of… (Dubai Economic Agenda D33) is ambitious.”

He added: “The department and Emirates Airlines have been able to establish a fruitful relationship over the past years, and there is no doubt that this agreement will contribute to enhancing our ability to attract an important segment of the target audience interested in business from all over the world.”

He continued: “Dubai’s ability to connect various destinations in the world is the main driver of tourism and economic growth in the city, driven by the international network of Emirates Airlines and its leadership position in the global aviation sector, and we look forward to continuing to work together to make Dubai the best city to live, work and visit.”

For his part, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Operations at Emirates Airlines, Adnan Kazim, said: “Dubai is already an attraction point for many international companies and entrepreneurs, as well as family businesses, thanks to its favorable environment for business and investors, favorable trade conditions and high standards of living. We are committed to consolidating Dubai’s position as a global economic center with our partners in the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, to enhance its presence through our network of routes that cover more than 140 cities, through a series of promotional activities, and we also continue our efforts to grow our network of destinations to enhance Dubai’s commercial map.”

He added: “The strategy of (Emirates Airline) and the department would support the goals and vision of our wise leadership, which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade, and strengthen its position as one of the three largest economic cities in the world.”

Under the partnership, the two parties will cooperate to enhance Dubai’s strong business offerings, and capitalize on its strategic location as a gateway to key regions and markets, business-friendly policies and operations, modern infrastructure, and an innovation-based economy. It will target companies of all types, including multinational and family-owned ones, as well as attracting global investors, which will contribute to consolidating Dubai’s position as an ideal destination for companies looking to benefit from rapidly growing economies.

The partnership covers a wide range of initiatives, including marketing campaigns to highlight the city as a major transit point for goods and passengers, access to a wide range of services and solutions to simplify global logistics operations, and sharing the latest market developments to raise awareness levels and make Dubai a leading center for business, trade and investment.
