Singapore Man Charged With Drink Driving After Hitting Police Car

Kumaran Raman, 44, faces charges including drink driving after his vehicle allegedly hit a stationary police car on May 7, 2025, in Singapore. On July 16, 2026, Raman was charged with one count each of drink driving, causing the car to remain at rest at a junction, and driving without due care and attention. He was allegedly drink driving in Buyong Road, near Orchard Road, at around 4am on May 7, 2025. He purportedly failed to keep a proper lookout ahead and his vehicle hit the rear of a stationary police car.

Singapore Police Force charges 20 motorists for drink driving offenses

A total of 20 motorists, aged between 21 and 52, were set to be charged in court for drink driving on Thursday, Feb 26. In a media release, the police said these individuals were arrested between July 2025 and February 2026 after failing breathalyser tests. Seven of them face additional charges, including driving without due care and attention, leaving their vehicles in a manner that caused undue inconvenience to others, speeding, and being repeat offenders.

Stomper Fahmi observes Mercedes driver traveling against traffic on Middle Road

A 40-year-old man was arrested for drink driving after going against traffic along Middle Road on Feb 2. A witness, identified as Stomper Fahmi, reported seeing a white Mercedes-Benz GLS going against the flow of traffic at about 2am. The witness shared photos and a video with Stomp showing Traffic Police officers speaking to the driver, with one picture appearing to show an officer conducting a breathalyser test. The witness stated, The man was drunk for sure and had an unsteady gait.

In another case, a 46-year-old male driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in a hit-and-run on Good Friday, April 3. The incident occurred at about 12.40am at the junction of Serangoon North Avenue 1 and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. Ground checks showed that road diversions were in place along that stretch of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 due to ongoing Cross Island Line construction.
