super Furry Animals Announce 2025 Reunion Tour & Love Kraft Reissue
Super Furry Animals are set to return to the stage in 2025, marking a significant moment for fans of the beloved Welsh band. They’ve announced a string of U.K. and Ireland dates kicking off in May, promising a vibrant live experience for audiences.
The tour begins on May 6th in Dublin, Ireland, at the 3Olympia Theatre and continues through several iconic venues across the U.K., culminating on May 22nd at London’s O2 Brixton Academy. You can find the full list of dates at the end of this article.
Love Kraft Gets a Second Look
Alongside the tour announcement, the band is also revisiting their past with a 20th-anniversary reissue of their 2005 album, Love Kraft. This release represents a deep dive into a pivotal moment in their discography, offering fans both a nostalgic trip and fresh discoveries.
The reissue will be available as a double vinyl and 2-CD set. I’ve found the bonus 22-track CD, titled Kiss me With Apocalypse, especially exciting, as it includes four previously unreleased tracks: ”Rock ‘N’ Roll Flu,” ”Cae marw,” “Palo Alto,” and “Bedw Arian.” It’s scheduled for release on October 24th via Strangetown Records.
A Legacy of Innovation
Super Furry Animals have always been known for their experimental sound and captivating live performances. Their final studio album, Dark Days/Light Years, arrived in 2009, but their influence continues to resonate within the music world.
In 2021, the band celebrated the 20th anniversary of Rings Around the World with a deluxe edition. This edition included a memorable, isolated recording of Paul McCartney enjoying some celery while contributing to the track “receptacle for the Respectable.” It’s these quirky details that truly define their unique artistry.
