SWIMMING – 12TH LONG LIVE THE FUTURE

Nighttime atmosphere. The Saint Michel swimming club will organize, today and tomorrow, at the National Sports Academy in Ampefiloha, the 12th edition of “Long live the future”. After the success of the night races of the previous edition, the organizing club decided to continue in this direction, as international bodies do.

The playoffs will begin this Saturday afternoon. The under 9s will open the ball and their elders will take over in the afternoon. The finals for all categories will take place in the evening, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The organization will broadcast the finals live on a giant screen and, perhaps, also on social networks. The Saint Michel club launched this night atmosphere for the finals last year.

“The six best ranked in each category and event compete in the finals,” underlines Andraisandratra Fidiarisoa Rivohasina, coach of Saint Michel. “In addition to the individual events, there will be mixed medley and freestyle relays in the U9, 10 and 13 year old, 14 and 15 year old, and over 16 year old categories. Each club can field a maximum of two teams per category, made up of two boys and two girls,” specifies the organizing club. The three medalists per category and event will be rewarded, medals and trophies will be given to them.

The best swimmers by category will also have their share, in the U13 category, 14 to 17 years old and over 17 years old. “The water will be warmed to an average temperature of 35°C in the evening of this Saturday,” reassures the coach of the organizing club. “The finals this Saturday will normally last from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Three hundred and seventy swimmers are engaged for this 2024 version of Vive l’avenir. »
