Tine Priem is expecting her first child with her husband Tom. She is very happy, but in the beginning of her pregnancy she suffered a heavy blow.

“I was just pregnant when my grandfather died unexpectedly,” she tells Het Nieuwsblad. “I was completely out of milk.”

It hurt so much that it even prevented her from enjoying her pregnancy for a while. “Fortunately, those days are now over,” she says. “The loss has made me realize that life is a story of comings and goings.”

Sometimes she feels like her grandfather is watching over her unborn child. “That thought comforts me. His death makes me realize even more how precious our time here together is.”

Tine is due to give birth this summer, but there will be no noticeable difference in ‘Thuis’. Her pregnant belly is expertly hidden during filming and therefore has no influence on the storylines. She will of course go on parental leave for a while after the birth.
