After the alarming increase in cases and the inclusion of the District as one of the Dengue hotspots in the province, according to the latest epidemiological bulletin, the Deliberative Council of Junín requested vaccination against the disease transmitted by the mosquito.

“In the first ordinary session of the year from the Junín Deliberative Council, we unanimously asked the National Government to arbitrate the necessary means to include the quadrivalent vaccine against dengue in the National Vaccination Calendar,” said councilor Pablo Petraglia.

“The alarming increase in cases and the lack of understanding on the part of the national government regarding this issue has led the Council, with the consent of all blocks, to ask for this situation.”

“As the journalistic information emerges, there is an exponential increase and since 2024 the outbreak has multiplied and in just two and a half months, more than 100,000 cases have been registered throughout the country, with a particularly ascending curve. From the Council we have made a Communication to the Nation so that it acts accordingly.” concluded the mayor of Unión por la Patria.

It should be remembered that so far this year and until last Thursday, 91 positive cases of dengue were detected in Junín. Due to this increasing number of positive cases (and others where the study is not carried out), the district was included among the “focus” municipalities and indigenous circulation of the mosquito that transmits the disease.

Dengue cases grew by 80% in one week in the province of Buenos Aires, there are 37 municipalities in outbreak, which is already spreading in the interior of Buenos Aires with the addition of Junín, Ramallo, Rojas and San Nicolás with indigenous circulation.
