The Medicines Authority called on citizens to use painkillers as prescribed by the treating physician, at the lowest possible dose, and for the shortest possible period of time, with the need to consult a pharmacist about the optimal use of the drug.​​

It also warned against using non-prescription painkillers for more than 10 days to relieve pain, or for 3 days for fever, and to consult a caregiver if pain or fever persists for a longer period.​​

It is necessary to consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking painkillers by patients suffering from kidney disease, people over the age of 65, or patients taking diuretic medications, in addition to patients suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, and liver disease.​​

She said: The amount of fluids consumed daily must be increased. To become 6 to 8 cups when taking painkillers, and read the instructions written in the product leaflet.​​
